In the main event, Scott would jump to the lead at the drop of the green flag. As the race progressed the car began to develop a push, and he would fight the ill-handling car up to the white flag lap, when his tight race car allowed the second place runner to slip by to take the lead and the win as Hensley finished in the second spot. Even though the team had obviously hoped to pick up the win, they were quite pleased with a second place finish in Scott's first endeavor in the Pro division.

On a lightning fast surface, he would record a 20th place finish in the first main event.

The finishing order from the first feature was completely inverted for the second, 25 lap event. As a result, Scott started 3rd in the second feature, and challenge for the lead early in the $2,500 to win event before slipping to an 18th place finish with a tight race car.

The afternoon got off to a rocky start as a competitor blew an oil line in front of Scott in practice, resulting in Scott sliding into the wall. The result of the wreck was that most of the parts on the right front were destroyed.

The team initially thought that their day was coming to an early end, but the team's crew chief worked diligently and was able to mend the car enough for Hensley to race. With low expectations, due to a bent car, Scott went out for his first heat race, which he won from the pole to earn the outside front row starting position for the first feature. Early in the event, he would fall back as far as the third position before rebounding to take the lead on the fourth circuit en route to the win.

For the second feature, the entire field was inverted, and as a result Scott had to start last (18th). Hensley would quickly work his way to the front of the pack by utilizing the high groove, which is quite treacherous at Lanier Raceway. By lap 10, Scott was at the front of the pack, and had a big lead when the caution flag flew with a few laps remaining. On the ensuing restart, the second place runner plowed into the rear of Hensley forcing him up the track. Hensley would methodically pursue Braden for the next several laps before making a move for the lead with two laps to go. As the pair battled down the back stretch, Braden made heavy contact with Hensley several times, ultimately forcing Scott through the grass where he would lose several spots. Lap thirteen saw him advance to the second position, and that's where he would finish in a race that was shortened from twenty to fifteen laps to speed the show up to allow for inclement weather in the area. Late in the race, Hensley caught the leader but just ran out of time.

In the new program, Scott started 9th in his heat race and was up to the 4th position by lap 4. Scott would ultimately advance to a second place finish in the heat to earn the fifth starting spot for the feature. Early in the feature, he would advance to the 3rd spot before moving into the second position on lap 8. Four circuits later, Hensley charged to the lead. Scott would hold down the top spot for the next four laps before slipping back to the second spot.
